2 / Junior Ranger: Solar Power S’Mores

Join First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park staff at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, to make S’Mores using solar power during its Junior Ranger program. The program, which is designed to educate and engage young children and their guardians with the park's natural and cultural offerings, will last 90 minutes and is designed for kids ages six to 12. 3 / Montana State Fair

Montana’s State Fair is held every year in Great Falls, and it brings our community musical acts, rodeo, exhibits, horse racing, rides, animals, and tasty food. This year, the Montana State Fair opens its gates at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25 until Saturday, Aug. 3. Gate admission for adults ages 18-59 is $9, with senior (60 and older) and youth (6-17) passes costing $6. Children 5 years and younger are free, and a “Lunch Special” fare is available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $6. Learn more

Know a student who needs a backpack and school supplies for the upcoming school year? Verizon-Cellular Plus, located at at 701 3rd St. NW, will give away free backpacks filled with school supplies from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 27. The store is also accepting donations and will distribute everything collected to local kids. Learn more
